What garden work costs in North London

Every garden's different, so we don't do fixed price lists — we give a free, no-obligation quote for each job. Here's how our pricing works and what drives the cost, so you know what to expect.

What affects the cost

Whatever the job, a few things drive the price — and once you know them, the quote makes sense:

  • The size and scope. A bigger garden, or a bigger project, takes more time and materials — it's the single biggest factor.
  • The state it's in. A garden that's kept ticking over costs less to look after than one that needs clearing and bringing back under control first.
  • How often (for maintenance). Regular visits are more cost-effective per visit than occasional ones, because the garden never gets out of hand.
  • Materials and finish. Timber, stone, paving, decking and planting all vary in price — we'll set out the options and what each costs.
  • Access. Easy side access is straightforward; carrying everything through the house, or tricky parking, takes longer.

Garden maintenance: regular or one-off

Maintenance is our most-asked-about price, and there are two ways people use us. The first is regular maintenance — we come on a set schedule and keep everything in good order, usually charged per visit or as a simple monthly amount. The second is a one-off tidy-up — a single bigger visit to get an overgrown garden back under control, often before selling, after moving in, or when it's all got away from you. Many people start with a one-off to reset the garden, then switch to regular visits to keep it that way — which works out cheaper than letting it slide and rescuing it again.

How often do you need maintenance?

As a rough guide:

  • Weekly or fortnightly through the growing season (roughly March–October) suits most gardens with a lawn — it stays sharp and never becomes a big job.
  • Monthly works well for lower-maintenance gardens, or through the quieter winter months.
  • Seasonal one-offs — a spring wake-up and an autumn clear-down — suit gardens that don't need regular visits but want keeping tidy.

How to get an accurate price

Because every garden's different, the only honest way to price it is to see it. We offer a free, no-obligation visit: we'll look at the garden, talk through what you want done and how often, and give you a clear price with no surprises — no pressure to go ahead. It's the same for every service, from garden maintenance and design to fencing, decking and patio cleaning.
